Bouncy Croc Crocodile farm is a commercial crocodile farm that was founded more than 13 years ago. The farm is a proud guardian of almost 30 thousand Nile crocodiles.
It has been stated that the exploitation for the skins and meat has proved to be a valuable tool in Nile crocodile conservation, as it provides an incentive for people to protect the crocodile. According to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, known as CITE the Nile crocodile has been downgraded from being listed on Appendix I to Appendix II in a number of countries.
As it does mainly provide an incentive to protect the Nile crocodile, this practice also boost the Nile crocodile numbers as it improves the survival rate of the young. These sustainable-use initiatives contribute to the low numbers of illegal trade in the species.
We also soon discovered that the farm has great potential in showcasing the Nile crocodile farming industry providing visitors a sheer understanding on the industry, by taking you on a guided tour and explaining the how this magnificent beast behave and the process of growing a Nile crocodile.
Bouncy Croc crocodile farm are still in the developing stages as the tourist venue in itself is only a few years old. However, we are a destination where the whole family can enjoy themselves, from taking an adventurous tour into the crocodile farm to bird watching over the dam.
